– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 1 tsp baking powder
– 1/4 tsp baking soda
– 1/4 tsp salt
– 1/2 cup buttermilk
– 1 egg
– 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Glaze:
– 1 cup powdered sugar
– 2-3 tbsp milk
– 1/2 tsp vanilla extract


Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
Step 4: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Step 5: Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
Step 6: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the donuts are lightly golden and spring back when touched.
Step 7: Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
For the Glaze: Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Dip each donut into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off, then place them back on the wire rack to set.
