Get rid of ants for good with this simple trick. Didn’t take long at all!

Mix the Baking Soda and Powdered Sugar: In a small dish or container, combine equal parts of baking soda and powdered sugar. The powdered sugar will act as the bait because ants are attracted to the sweet substance.
Add Water to Form a Paste: Slowly add a few drops of water to the mixture, stirring until you get a paste-like consistency. This makes it easy for ants to carry the mixture back to their colony.
Place the Mixture Near Ant Trails: Identify the areas where you frequently see ants. Place small amounts of the paste near these trails, especially near entry points, but out of reach of pets and children.
Wait and Clean Up: After the ants consume the bait and carry it back to their nest, you should see a reduction in ant activity in a few days. Once you notice fewer ants, clean up any remaining paste and reapply as necessary if ants reappear.
Why It Works
Attraction: The powdered sugar serves as a powerful attractant for ants, luring them in with its sweetness. Ants are always on the lookout for food sources to take back to their colony, making sugar an excellent choice for bait.
Reaction: Baking soda is the key ingredient that kills the ants. When ants ingest baking soda, it reacts with an acidic substance in their stomachs and releases carbon dioxide gas. Ants, unlike humans, cannot expel gas, so this buildup of gas ultimately causes internal pressure that can be lethal to the ant.
Colony Impact: By mixing the baking soda with a bait (powdered sugar), you ensure that worker ants carry the bait back to the colony to share, potentially reaching the queen and other ants, which amplifies the effectiveness of the bait.
