For the filling:

  • 1 pound ground beef (or your choice of protein)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup diced onions (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)

Other ingredients:

  • Large flour tortillas
  • Tostada shells (or you can use tortilla chips as a substitute)
  • Cooking spray or vegetable oil

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the taco seasoning and water to the cooked beef, following the instructions on the seasoning packet. Simmer until the mixture thickens.
  3. Assemble the other filling ingredients: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, diced onions, and chopped cilantro.
  4. Warm the large flour tortillas in the microwave for about 10 seconds or until they are pliable.
  5. Place a large spoonful of the seasoned ground beef in the center of a tortilla.
  6. Top the beef with a tostada shell or a handful of tortilla chips, pressing it down slightly to help it adhere.
  7. Add a portion of each filling ingredient on top of the tostada shell.
  8. Fold the edges of the tortilla up and over the filling, creating a hexagon shape. Press down gently to seal the edges.
  9. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and lightly coat it with cooking spray or oil.
  10. Place the Crunchwrap, seam-side down, on the hot skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  11. Repeat the process for the remaining Crunchwraps.
  12. Once cooked, remove from the skillet, let them cool for a moment, and then cut them in half if desired.

Serve your homemade Crunchwrap Supremes with extra sour cream, salsa, or guacamole on the side. Enjoy your delicious homemade version of this popular Taco Bell favorite!
